CHS 1963

Tracy Crocker

Family: Married in 1967, Divorced in 1981and remarried in 1983 to my current loving wife Joyce. Have two wonderful children by my first marriage, Tracy Jr. 39 and Carolynn 36 and a granddaughter 13.

Home: For the past 10 years Joyce and I have lived in Plymouth, MN a suburb of Minneapolis. We moved here in 1996 after living in Hawaii for 14 years. Before that we lived in San Francisco for 3 years, St. Louis for 3 years. I lived prior to that 3 years in Pittsburgh, 2 years in Toledo and 7 years in Syracuse….whew. You might say home is where we live at the time.

I have been back to Cortland a few times as my family still has a summer home on Skaneateles. I also came back to bury my father and brother. My mother as you all know passed away in 1963 so have pleasant and rough memories of that year. Some of it is very vague.

What have I done since leaving CHS in 63. I attend SUNY in Cortland for one year (my lost year) and then went to Mohawk Valley Community College were I got a degree in Retail Business Management. I took my first job in Syracuse in 67 for E.W. Edwards where I moved up the ladder to become a buyer. I was then recruited by a specialty store in Toledo as a buyer, and then Kauffman’s in Pittsburg where I became a Divisional. Then a prior boss recruited me to Stix, Bare and Fuller in St. Louis and then I took a Divisional position for Liberty House in San Francisco. Liberty House transferred me to Hawaii in 1983 where I was promoted to Vice President and General Merchandise Manager. My retail career has taken me all over the world to Europe where I attended the apparel markets and most of the run way shows in Paris, Milano, Florence, London, along with other various cities of Europe. Traveled extensively in Asia, major cities of the US and was one week out of every month in NYC. I was putting in almost 250 thousand miles a year….. In 1996 I said enough and we moved to Minnesota where we could be closer to family and I did executive search for five years working with major corporations.

I am now retired and really enjoying the fruits of my life after all those years at 36,000 feet. Retail was a wonderful experience and I met and worked with many wonderful interesting individuals. I would love to share all the stories that I have accumulated over the years….

What do I want to do with my future? Simple, enjoy time with my wife, children and grand children while pursuing my hobbies. Genealogy has become one of my passions and I help people all over the country in finding their roots. I maintain eight websites for eight organizations and build data bases for several of these groups. From March to November I play golf almost everyday (the PGA will never see me). Joyce and I are great sports fans and have season tickets to the Vikings and the Timberwolves….wish they knew how to win.
