Bio for Edward O. Page,
Husband of Barbara (Martin) Page, “Keeper of the CHS Class of 1963 Address
List”, Support Staff.
Member of the Hartford High School Class of 1959, White River Jct., Vermont, of
which I am the “Keeper of the HHS Class of 1959 Address List”, and I coordinate
class reunion activities.
Served three years in the U.S. Army. Best duty and assignment was with the
Signal Corp during a 2 ˝ year assignment in Southwest France .
Returned to high school to continue with a post-graduate study to prepare for
college and work for expenses.
Attended SUNY at Morrisville, where I studied Electrical Technology and met
Barbara. She chased me until I caught her, and this qualified her for the MRS.
Degree.
We married in Cortland, May 1st, 1965.
During the earlier years of our marriage, there was a short career in the cable
television field, which took us from Endicott, to Jamestown, Northern New
Hampshire, and back to Cortland. Then it was on to the telephone industry.
Fortunately, for me, Barbara has withstood the demands imposed on her, while I
took advantage of opportunities to advance from Lineman to my present position
of Central Office Equipment Installation, with emphasis in High Speed Internet
Service, a.k.a. DSL. These assignments took us from Alfred, to Newark Valley,
Norwich, Sherburne, Johnstown, and back to Sherburne again. During my forty
years working for the company, it has been known as, or owned by: CONTEL, GTE,
Citizens Communications, and recently to Frontier a Citizens Communications
Company. I give Barbara credit for encouraging me to return to work after my
first week of employment in February of 1967 and withstanding fourteen moves. It
is because of her support and willingness to be a “Stay-at-Home Mom”, that I was
able to have this career and continue to work in this vocation.
Hobbies include: Licensed Amateur Radio Operator, WA2GDE, Downhill Skiing,
Photography, and Genealogy.
Working with Barbara on this project has brought me great pleasure seeing her
class come together after so many years without a reunion. It is my observation
that the CHS Class of 1963 is more united and has been communicating more than
ever since your graduation day! Good luck, be healthy, and be safe.
